About Robin
Welcome!
I am a licensed professional counselor in Texas with over 10 years of experience. (TX license #68237)
I graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2001 with a B.A. in Women’s Studies. In 2011, I obtained a M.A. in Professional Counseling from Texas State University.
The areas I specialize in are:
Mood Disorders: anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I utilize psychotherapy techniques and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help patients identify their maladaptive behavioral patterns and learn more positive ways to relate to others and cope with stress.
Chronic Pain: I have over 4 years experience providing therapy to chronic pain patients at a local pain clinic. I provide Cognitive Behavior therapy to help people manage their pain and increase their overall quality in life.
LGBTQIA issues: I provide support to clients who are coming out, transitioning, struggling with their identity, or having any issues related to their sexual orientation (which may include substance use disorders and sexual addiction.)
Help 4 Helpers: I am passionate about helping the people who serve our community. Healthcare providers, educators, and other front line helpers have experienced unprecedented demands since the start of COVID-19. Counseling can help with secondary trauma, stress reduction and burnout prevention.
Couples and Relational Work: I help couples reconnect and heal disruptions in their relationships. I help single men, women, and non-binary folks lead more satisfying and fulfilling lives as they navigate modern dating and “adulting” without a partner.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends at local museums, making art, visiting Texas state parks, and walking my dog Max.
